Gnome-autolock

Automatic screen lock-on on Gnome or XFCE login. When used with autologin feature of the ubuntu desktop, this ensures you have your desktop ready and secure on power on.

Usage:

  • Install the¬† gnome-autolock.deb¬†package on you Ubuntu system
  • Enable in the control panel

That’s all. Next time you will login, the screen will be automatically locked. This is quite useful when auto login is enabled. You have all the advantages without any security issue:

  1. Your main user is automatically logged in when you power up your machine. So you wont wait when you want to use your computer
  2. But anyway the screen is locked if you power up your computer and leave the room t to have a coffee, your screen will not be easilly accessible to other coworker, for instance.
